It's been a while since I've had the time to tell you what i've been up to, serving the people of Tooting and Wandsworth, but here's a snap shot of what i've been doing the past couple of months:
Gave a talk at the Reset Connect conference about all the good work we've been doing in Wandsworth to support the environment and reduce our impact on the planet
We had an election - In case you missed that! So a lot of time has been spent canvassing for our great MP's and those in other boroughs. Of course i'm happy about the result!
Met and spoke to Refugee tales at the end of a 5 mile walk. Whilst we didn't do the walk I had the privilege off hearing from refugees who have experienced such trauma to get her. We must keep them safe.
Attended the Re-opening of the Melrose centre which is based just on Glenburnie road. Have a look at what they do
Helped young people from Wandsworth who are involved in THE agency plan projects to support other young people over the next year at Battersea Arts centre
I attended a Get together in Pringle gardens at the Bowls club which is a lovely venue in Tooting
We celebrated 130 years of Battersea and Wandsworth Trade Union and the next day I judged a very wet Dog show in Battersea Park
All the primary schools in Wandsworth held a exhibition of what they have learned from Apple and i was interviewed by many curious young minds using IPADs - in my day we had pen and paper!
TOOK A HOLIDAYÂ - I never seem to take a break so I went to visit my family on the sunny Island of Grenada
Finally, we are now Back in the council doing the fun work of committees so planning for our Borough of Culture, work with businesses and how to better support the VCS with a co-produced strategy
All for now!
