Community spaces win awards

During the cold winter months, when most are getting cosy with family and friends there are still many who will spend it alone and even more who will spend it in the cold. And this is why multi-use community spaces are so important.
I set up a charity, Be Enriched, that uses these underused spaces, church halls, catering kitchens, underused cafes and school halls, that brings people together, over a meal or activity, only once a week but every week. They give people a welcoming place to go, where they know they will be welcomed and remembered. Provides community and develops networks. It gives people hope. And most importantly our model works.
So last week, when we received the Kings award, an MBE for charities and the highest award any charity can receive, this was a testament to the collaborations we have always believed in. We are so proud to have received this honour and excited about the
Working with our local community businesses and organisations alongside local volunteers we can make a difference, long term, in the lives of so many people.
Despite this amazing award the future for this charity relies on grants and donations so we are forever working to fundraise to deliver these life changing projects. If you read this and fancy it - make a donation here.
