Bank Holiday and August

August brings a time of respite for many people and especially councillors.
We have a lot less meetings, because of the summer holidays and a caring responsibilities, its warm and sticky, so no one wants to be locked in a stuffy room discussing policy and by default this means theres loads more to do outside.
This August has been no different.
I had a big life milestone to celebrate, so this took up several of my weeks, but alongside this the London Borough of Culture program has snowballed and his now running at peak capacity.

Battersea Park saw the Big play out for all children in Wandsworth to take part in climbing, caving, handling snakes and falcons, drumming and many other things. Then, while others where at Notting Hill carnival, I went to Battersea Park in Concert featuring amazing young musicians from World Heart Beat,
Jools Holland and Yolanda Brown. Amazing Jazz and blues for all to enjoy from the comfort of our deck chairs and cushions.
I truly believe Wandsworth has stepped up its activity game - long may it last!
Besides this I've been meeting with local people, responding to queries about support for people in Temporary accommodation - as we move them closer to our tight knit Tooting community and checking in on elderly neighbours to ensure they are hydrated.
